Phase 2 Underway June to Dec. 2008

During Phase 1 we designed the foundation of this website to support its ongoing growth for many years to come. Over 1,500 web pages were created and most of them are now labeled "under construction" awaiting data upload during Phase 2.

Every reference term in Groomer Pedia has its own web page. During Phase 2 we will define at least 1,500 grooming industry terms. The work will be aided by "Contributing Authors." Your participation is encouraged as a qualified author. Also, anyone can submit comments regarding our definitions with the intent to help us better present encyclopedia style definitions without opinion and instead based on known, sourced facts.

Navigating Groomer Pedia™ is easy. It is divided into "Portals" (sections). Each portal has a unique theme, such as "Mobile Grooming." Within each portal related grooming industry terms are sorted for easy access. This structure also conforms well to the needs of our web site search engine.

Groomer Pedia™ will never stop growing as long as the grooming industry expands and matures. Therefore this web site will always be under construction to some degree. We have plans for 5,000 terms to be completed within 3 years.

 There are three ways you can participate in helping us to present a quality product to everyone with an interest in the grooming industry. They are:
  1. Become a Groomwise™ Contributing Author and submit works (eligibility requirements)
  2. Submit Comments regarding our published definitions (open to everyone)
  3. Discuss definitions on the Groomer Pedia™ Hive℠ Message Board (Fall 2008)

Groomer Pedia™ is the place where pet grooming professionals stick to the business of advancing the profession with a centralized database of grooming industry terms. They can also read knowledgeable articles by our Contributing Authors. On the other paw, socialization between groomers is highly encouraged at the popular GroomerTALK Message Board.
 
Groomwise™ Contributing Authors

Groomwise™ Contributing Authors donate, lend and sometimes sell grooming articles, charts, forms, videos or photography to Groomer Pedia™ for publication here. Groomwise™ online is set to be a major repository of publications by well-known and upcoming industry authors. We publish properties in our Groomwise™ Library to expand the knowledge base of Groomer Pedia™ beyond its catalog of encyclopedia format definitions. Authors have more creative license and freedom to express opinion which must be adamantly avoided in true encyclopedia definitions. The archive of Groomwise is a wonderful way for the pet grooming industry to archive important articles for long-term use assisting researchers many years into the future. Make sure your works get archived here.

We provide Groomwise™ Contributing Authors with a profile web page viewable by our visitors. Your original works or additions to our encyclopedia definitions are identified and linked to your profile page. Being published here may expand your reputation as a pet grooming industry professional. You may also be able to develop new clientele for your publications, products and services. Eligible Groomwise™ Contributing Authors may earn cash revenue when their new or existing works are selected for publication in our Groomer Pedia™ Journal, a print edition distributed by postal mail. It's not how-to groom info, nor is it a trade magazine. We're not competing with any other publication. In fact we promote other available trade publications.
