Standard
Definition
The Birman is thought to have
originated as a temple cat in Asia.
It has heavy bone and longer in the
body and head than the Persian.
Developed in France and during World
War II dwindled to just a few.
It was some years before the breed
was rejuvenated and in the 1960s
they were imported from France to
England and then to America. (Donate
