Standard Definition

The Bombay was created in the United States in the 1950s with the attempt to create a pure black Burmese.  It was a cross with a sable Burmese and a black American Shorthair.  Because of it's likeness to a miniature Indian black panther Bombay was chosen as the breed name.  (Donate a picture.)
